About two dozen kids from the cities of Menifee, Perris, Canyon Lake, and surrounding unincorporated areas, had some Christmas wishes come true yesterday through the first annual "Shop with a Cop" event conducted at the Riverside County Sheriff's Perris Station.
Selected children from around the area were each paired with an deputy who spent up to $100.00, through the generous support of sponsors, buying gifts for them at the Super Target in Menifee.
Sponsors included Supervisor Marion Ashley, Miller-Jones Mortuary, Harvest Valley Citizens Patrol, Menifee Crime Watch, Nelson Paving and Sealing, Perris Skydive, Advantage Flooring and Target.

it was so good to see..we happened to be there during the event...amazing to see all the police cars coming into the Marketplace shopping center with their lights and sirens on...the children were really happy to see them....
