Fans of homestyle Mexican food will have a new option with the arrival of a Miguel's Jr. Restaurant in the Countryside Marketplace on Haun Road.
The newest of the 10 Miguel's Jr. locations will open for business at lunch hour on Tuesday, Nov. 15. An official grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Nov. 17 at 10:30 a.m.
The restaurant offers drive-through service and a menu including a variety of burritos, tacos and combination plates. Known best for its "original" bean, rice and cheese burrito, Miguel's Jr. also serves unique menu items such as its El Potato Burrito and the "Famous Garbage Burrito," which, according to Marketing Director Steve Rezner, includes "a little bit of everything."
Mike and Mary Vasquez opened the first Miguel's Restaurant in honor of Mike's grandfather in 1973 in Corona. Two years later, they opened the first of 10 Miguel's Jr. fast-food restaurants in the same city. Since then, the company has continued to expand throughout the Inland Empire.
At the official grand opening on Nov, 17, Miguel's Jr. will partner with the Menifee Valley Community Cupboard by raising funds for the Cupboard, which provides meals for area residents. Miguel's Jr. will donate a portion of the proceeds from that day to the organization.
