Attendees at last night's city council meeting were treated to live piano music by Marci Duncker, a Menifee resident.
With the council meeting scheduled to start at 7:00pm, Marci and her helpers began setting up equipment at 6:15pm, and she began playing selections of music that evoked a pleasant and calm atmosphere.
The musical presentation was the idea of Arts Council Menifee with the goal of promoting artists in the community.
"The Temecula City Council has live music playing at their meetings, and we wanted to bring that here to Menifee", said Linda Denver, Vice President of Arts Council Menifee. "We went to Bill Rawlings, the city manager, and talked about it, and we plan to showcase more artists in future meetings."
Denver went on to invite all local artists, including painters, sculptors, musicians, poets, and other display and performing arts to showcase their work at city council meetings and public venues through Arts Council Menifee.
For the December 6th city council meeting, guitar players from Mt San Jacinto College will be on hand to perform.
