The City of Menifee invites the community to come enjoy the Inaugural Tree Lighting Event at Menifee City Hall on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 5 pm. The event will benefit the Spark of Love Toy Drive and the Menifee Community Cupboard.
The Inaugural Event, which has been designed to raise awareness of those in need in Menifee, will feature the arrival of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus to City Hall to assist Mayor Wallace Edgerton in lighting the first Christmas tree at City Hall. Attendees are encouraged to bring a camera to get a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus in front of City Hall.
The City will be accepting non-perishable/canned food items to stock the shelves of the Menifee Community Cupboard and collecting new, unwrapped toys for the “Spark of Love” Toy Drive. A Children’s Choir, sponsored by the Arts Council Menifee, will perform to get those in attendance in the holiday spirit.
The event will be staged on Haun Road directly out in front of Menifee City Hall, located at 29714 Haun Road. Hot drinks and light snacks will be provided. As a safety precaution, a portion of Haun Road will be closed to through traffic beginning at 4 pm. Parking will be available around the New Hub Circle and in adjacent parking lots near the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The City of Menifee and its supportive partner, the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce, is excited to produce this Inaugural event for the Menifee community.
