It was announced last week the City of Menifee would begin issuing city business licenses beginning October 1, 2011. Prior to this, the County of Riverside had issued all business licenses for the area.
Denis Nurmela, founder of the new local publication MyMenifee, signed the first business license application at Menifee’s city hall on Monday, October 3, 2011. MYmenifee is a full color newsletter style publication set to make its Menifee debut November 1st. City employee, Jennifer Arsaga, was pleased to complete the paperwork for the first city issued business license.
The City's website states, "The City of Menifee welcomes new business enterprises and values the businesses that have made Menifee home. We are excited to announce that as of October 1st, 2011, the City is now issuing business licenses. (Previously issued by the County) For more information please visit our Finance department's webpage." The cost for a license is $45 for the initial year. Municipal code requires any individual, sole proprietor, partnership, corporation or entity that wishes to conduct business within the city of Menifee to secure a business license.
