Coworking Connection throws Menifee K-9 specialist a bone

Local K-9 behavior specialist Farren Mahone doesn’t need to use the excuse “my dog ate my paperwork” around her clients, despite the plausibility.

Instead, she has a desk at Coworking Connection in Menifee, a professional building with office space for rent, where she is able to catch up on all of the paperwork for her business.

“I have trouble doing paperwork at home, so this is an awesome solution,” said Mahone. “I’m able to have an office environment to get everything done.”

As the owner of Board-N-Behave, Mahone primarily works out of her home on her 2-acre dog farm in Menifee, or in the homes of her clients. She needs a quiet and productive space to focus on the contractual part of her work.

“There isn’t another place in the area that has office space, so I’m excited I found Coworking Connection,” she said.

Coworking Connection owner Brian Walker bought the 4,536-square-foot building a couple of months ago in Sun City when he was ready to expand his career as a Farmers Insurance Agent.

“Brian is great at helping people become successful in what they’re gifted in,” Mahone said. “He also helps me with marketing and coordinating events.”

At Coworking Connection Mahone is able to organize her filing cabinet, network with local businesses, and get the word out about her work.

“My niche is extreme reform with troubled dogs,” she said. Mahone holds group obedience classes, private sessions, and in-kennel training. Board-N-Behave also offers boarding, grooming, and pet sitting.

“I custom train dogs for the owner’s lifestyle,” she said. “A dog should be an asset, not a burden.”
