Starting at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 30th, a vast amount of cars lined up in Paloma Valley High School's parking lot for Wildcat Football's fundraising car wash. A donation of $10 to Paloma Valley Wildcat Football gave participating attendees a car wash and an entrance into a drawing of various prizes.
A team of dedicated parent volunteers coordinated the car wash with the objective of raising money to provide all Wildcat Football teams with materials such as new uniforms and new equipment. With every car wash ticket purchased, participants were eligible to win one of many suitable gifts available in a prize drawing.
Prizes available in the drawing were donations made from local restaurants and businesses, including Giovanni's, China Garden, Menifee Bicycles, The Beer Hunter, The Breakfast Club of Menifee, Target, J's Barbershop, Home Depot, Papa John's, and Red Robin. Other prizes available for the drawing were an 8 GB iPod Touch from Best Buy, a flip video camera, a fire pit, a free lube and filter change along with a tire rotation from Menifee Tires, a porcelain doll from Ronnie's Resale and Gift Boutique, half a flat of strawberries from Bob & Gary's Strawberries, a Padres jersey, a Marlins jersey, and a Wildcat Football season pass.
A snack bar was also provided for all who attended the fundraiser with a variety of foods and beverages.
As cars amassed into Paloma Valley High School's parking lot, Wildcat Football players formed into two simple, separate teams: car washers and car dryers. Cars entering into the parking lot were first greeted by a ticket collector, then proceeded to the car washer's section where the dirty cars were foamed up in soap for a gentle wash then rinsed thoroughly. After that, the freshly soaked cars drove into the car dryer's section where they were hand-dried to a sparkling finish.
The Wildcat Football players ensured all partaking individuals an entertaining and lively time with smiles, laughter, and amplified dancing music to work to under the fiery afternoon heat. All efforts put into washing the cars were quick yet effective to keep the accumulation of cars from backing up traffic. With sufficient teamwork, incoming vehicles progressed through the car wash at a gradual, steady flow. With all the hard work and energy put in, Paloma Valley Wildcat Football's Car Wash fund raiser concluded as a prominent success.
