Next Wednesday, February 16, starting at 6:30pm, The Beer Hunter is hosting a beer pairing dinner featuring three different Samuel Adams beer.
The evening starts with an appetizer of Shrimp Scampi Ravioli with Crustini, which is paired with a Samuel Adams Coastal Wheat.
Then it moves on to a 10oz Top Sirloin Steak with Port Wine Reduction, Twice Baked Potato, Green Beans with Bacon Shallots, Assorted Dinner Rolls with Butter, and that's paired up with Samuel Adams Boston Lager.
To finish it off, a South of the Border Sundae (deep fried tortilla strips tossed in cinnamon sugar, topped with ice cream, whipped cream and honey), and that's paired with a Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat.
"Samuel Adams has been talking to us for the past few months wanting to do a beer pairing dinner" says Dan Held, manager of The Beer Hunter. "So we have this coming up on the 16th, and then we'll be looking to do beer pairing dinners every month with other breweries."
Beer pairing dinners are becoming one of the more popular nightlife events throughout Southern California, stemming from the hottest craft brewing region in the United States, San Diego County. Stone Brewing in Escondido has lead the way in the past few years with frequent dinner events and parties.
"And we've actually been talking to the Stone guys", Held goes on to say. "We have a plan in place to start going to more of the locals, Black Market Brewing, Oceanside Aleworks, Hangar 24..."
Seating at The Beer Hunter's Samuel Adams Beer Pairing Dinner is limited to 25 persons, and reservations are recommended. Cost is $19.99 per person.
