The Menifee City Council last Tuesday approved a contract to David Taussig & Associates to study all available financing for a new bridge over the 215 freeway at Garbani Road, providing residents with an alternate route to Countryside Marketplace, as well as improvements to the Scott Road bridge. The contract totals $17,500.
David Taussig & Associates is also being hired to consult on creating new community facilities districts, which are basically Mello-Roos taxes paid by home owners, to fund future infrastructure projects in Menifee.
They're also being hired for a third contract worth $40,000 to assist the city in completing applications with the Santa Ana Watershed Planning Authority (SAWPA). The city is seeking to receive Prop 84 funds to build two new flood control basins along with 11,800 lineal feet of storm drains running west from Juniper Flats. SAWPA had originally approved up to $1 million in funds for this project, but needed answers on several questions which David Taussig & Associates will be tasked to answer.

Here we go again, with the Menifee City Counsel wanting more blood from the homeowners to create an additional Mello-Roos. If you think the foreclosre rate in Rolling Hills is high now, it's going to get worse as the 'Community Facilities Districs' grow.
