At approximately 9:45 pm, after hearing a loud explosion, local resident, Seth Tavake, who was talking to a friend outside on his phone, turned to see a power line fall and start a fire in the hill outside his home in the Hidden Meadow development just north of Bell Mountain. Firefighters arrived within 10 minutes of receiving his 911 call.
Local residents in the Shadow Ridge development, who were in the immediate path of the slow spreading fire, were seen hosing down their backyards and homes just in case the fire got out of control. Fortunately, firefighters quickly had the fire under control.
As one of the residences near the fire some of the facts in the report are incorrect. The fire started behind the residences in Shadow Ridge. Talking to Edison the night of the fire a electrical wire that arced off the power pole had started the fire behind the homes.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the clarification as to cause. Seth said it looked like the electrical line actually fell to the ground.
ReplyDeleteThe location of the fire was correctly reported.
