Caltrans issued a notice this evening that the I-215 Freeway in Murrieta, just north of Murrieta Hot Springs Rd, will be closed tonight at 10:00pm, in both directions.
There's a sink hole that opened up close to that point, and they need to inspect the thing, and hopefully fix it.
If you're heading south, you'll be directed to exit Clinton Keith Rd, and divert to the I-15.
If you're heading north, you'll have to continue up I-15 to Murrieta Hot Springs Rd, and cut through to Los Alamos Rd, and jump on the I-215 from there.
They didn't say, but I assume it's going to open back up by tomorrow morning.

ReplyDeleteI'd like to know what idiot decided to redirect the Southbound I215 traffic off at Clinton Keith instead of Los Alamos!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteClinton Keith is only a 2 lane bridge and Los Alamos is a 4 lane. The flow off traffic off at Los Alamos would have been easier to detour since you would have an option of either using Hancock or going down further to Madison.
It's no wonder why things are so screwed up sometimes when people like that make such stupid decisions that are not logical.

ReplyDeleteAt 5am ALL TRAFFIC was diverted off of Los Alamos and Clinton Keith was closed. This created a horrible back up. I hope both exits are open NOW. I wish they had posted "FWY closed signs prior to Scott so I could go the back way.
The only IDIOT is you when you think narrow minded!
tons of traffic! other websites saying no traffic build up....you sit on the roads for an extra hour!

ReplyDeleteThe southbound traffic should have been detoured off at Los Alamos not Clinton Keith. If the sinkhole is past Los Alamos and before Murrieta Hot Springs then common sense and logic would say to detour at the best possible location. Clinton Keith is a two lane bridge, Los Alamos is a four lane bridge. Clinton Keith is a BAD choice vs. Los Alamos. Los Alamos provides multiple detour routes and provides closer access to emergency services(The Hospital). This was plain and simple stupidity on someones part.
ReplyDeleteWe heard about the closing early this morning..it was on the 7:00 LA news...as I had to go to Temecula...decided to go down the 15 instead which wasn't bad at all....
ReplyDeleteACCORDING TO THE PRESS ENTERPRISE THE SOUTHBOUND LANES WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL SUNDAY AND THE NORTHBOUND UNTIL TUESDAY. See the link below.
