Are these the third owners? I remember "new" owners about 5 years ago. Stopped going because pizza wasn't same to me. Will have to try these new owners sometime.
Tried this pizza when I first moved here. Have not been back since then. I'd rather have a frozen Red Baron pizza than eat one of the pizza's this place makes ever again. Cannot wait for BJ's to open. This is one of the problems with Menifee, we don't have a good pizza place or chinese place.
Has anyone been there in the last 6 months? I went there over two years ago and the food was horrible! That is why I never went back. There was a place by the same name in Murrieta and it was great! are these the same owners now? I would give it a chance if someone says it is good!
I sure hope I have this right, but I believe this restaurant was owned by John and Nila Gagnon who, after years of success here in Menifee, moved to Murietta and sold the Newport Blvd location. Unfortunately, they closed the Murrieta restaurant last October. That's a loss to all of us who really, loved their food and service, however, the new owners are Tom and Caroline Powers and have only been here for two years. They've already become friends of the community through their donations of time and food for various fund raisers.
I LOVE their meatball sandwiches and pasta dishes. Have never thought to order pizza there.
Giovanni's rocks! Service is A+. Most food is a solid A and pizza only is a B. We always have a great time going there and the prices are VERY affordable. They also have a good pizza deal, buy a large and get a medium for free.
We like Giovanni's pizza, but everyone has a different taste, so goes a good array of food places! As for the Murrieta one; we were told by one of the still-struggling stores in that strip; that Giovanni's, along with the Great Wraps next to it, were both put out of business because of the strip-owners stiff rents. We've watched that little strip across from Best Buy suffer more and more from closed businesses. Our Giovannis here has great, very reasonable food, their lasagna is wonderful and the friendly guests and workers are super. Word is that PapaJohn on Antelope is really struggling since Target moved; easily understandable. What's the latest on fillers for the old Target building?
I see that the Sapporo Japanese sign has been replaced with Hana Sushi at the Countryside Marketplace. I am so happy to have Sushi coming to Menifee. Hana is good but nothing compares (for me anyway) to Shoguns in Temecula. If you like Sushi and scallops try the BSC roll. OMG.... wonderful! p.s. Jamba Juice sign has been removed
I ate there last week. Service was fine - but it is not the kind of Pizza or Pasta that I like. The salad bar was great as was the soup, but I do not prefer their pizza.
My family has been there about a dozen times during the past 2 years (and previously as well) and we would say it's a good Italian restaurant for those wanting to eat local and get a quick meal. If we want great Italian food, we go to Temecula.
This is a great place to go for anything Italian or not Italian. We love the BBQ Ribs, they fall off the bone. They seem to always have something different and new. Next time you go for pizza, have them make it HOMESTYLE, it's not on the menu but it doesn't have that Goumet ring of bread around the edge that the kids never eat. My dad likes the chicken wings and their prices are very reasonable.

ReplyDeleteThis restaurant has been there since 1992. Couple different owners.
ReplyDeleteWe don't go either because the pizza is not as good as it used to be.

I was told from an employee at the BJ's in Temecula that it WILL NOT be coming to Menifee in our new market place.

ReplyDeleteI heard a GYM (24 hour fitness like) may move in. Remind you that his is just a rumor I heard over coffee at the market place.
ReplyDeleteWe do need a better selection of food places. I still love RED ROBIN....

Ynaka Sushi in Wildomar is really good (if you want to talk about sashimi).
