The Chipotle Mexican Grill in the new Countryside Marketplace is throwing a "free burrito day" at its new Menifee location at Countryside Marketplace....
Thursday, January 15th – Free Burrito Day – 11 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
30024 Haun Rd
Menifee, CA 92584
951-301-9249
Basically, anyone can walk in and get a free burrito of their choosing.
Then on the following day, January 16, the Menifee Chipotle will have it's first official opening.
Chipotle Mexican Grill is a like a "fresh-mex" style of fast-food, along the same lines as a Baja Fresh. Except they have this "Food With Integrity" manifesto, where they claim to use meat and cheeses from animals that were raised humanely, and not treated with anibiotics or growth hormones, and where they don't force animals to eat pelletized renderings of their own dead. If eating burritos could ever be construed as "healthy" then maybe Chipotle is it?
But to make things doubly better, Chipotle will be opening up a new location in Hemet, just a week later, and that one will also be giving away free burritos. That means you can get two free burritos in a span of one week...
Thursday, January 22nd – Free Burrito Day – 11 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
2465 West Florida Ave.
Hemet, CA 92545
951-658-0139
Cross streets: Florida & Kirby

I like free burritos. S.O.M.
ReplyDeleteChipotles is one of our favorites! Just try the Barbacoa(?) or their steak tacoes with the corn salsa - YUMM! They also have the best Guacamole ever eaten!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone familiar with the "Breakfast Club", i.e. chain? private ownership ?, only breakfast food ?, etc?
Great that we are now getting a variety of good food places near us. NOW we need a good steak place!
I don't know what's happened at the Menifee Lakes Country Club, but their food sure has taken a hit in its quality...not enough eaters or what? Its the most upscale place we have around here for functions (yes, I know, its not the Ritz, but its nice)which should make it more popular for functions or just a good, quiet lunch or dinner!
Yum yum,
ReplyDeleteMaybe my college kid will visit home now that we have these new places.
I wouldn't exactly call Chipotle "healthy"... If you check the nutritional info on their web page you'll know what I mean! But yes it is delicious! Just don't try to tell me it is "healthy"
ReplyDeleteHard to believe Chipotle is owned by McDonalds
ReplyDeleteYum yum? Chipotle serves up the worst "mexican" food I have ever had! I won't even bother getting a free burrito, in fact they should pay us to eat the tasteless slop they serve. I have no affiliation with Carnitas Express but there is where to get really good Mexican food. I was hoping for Baja Fresh or Rubios or something decent like that, not some bland upscale Taco Bell. Sorry for the negativity, but I really like food that taste good.
ReplyDeleteOkay, now we're hearing about healthy eating....only way to actually do that is to fix all your meals at home! I'll eat at these places and you stay home.
ReplyDeleteIf you want healthy eating try the New Pizza Fusion in Temecula.
ReplyDeleteIts an all organic menu, that has not GM food, no hydrogenated oils, not nitrites, no preservatives, no hormones, no pesticides pizza.
Its the best tasting pizza. They have been featured on CNN, sundane channel, NY times.... and they have only been open for 2 months. They also offer glutten free if for allergies or so... Thank you Pizza Fusion
glutten or gluten? My first thought was that someone slaps you if you ask for a second piece of pizza! Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI think Chipotle is great! It's just that the burritos cost so much. I wish they had more choices though. Oh well, I am still glad that they are opening up. By the way, it's a nice touch for them to offer free burritos for their opening. Go Chipotle!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to have more restaurant choices here in Menifee. They all seem to be pretty busy and doing pretty well - I wonder if those who "backed out" will reconsider now? What happened to BJ's and TGIFridays??? I know they would do well if they come.
ReplyDeleteI thought TGIFriday's was coming to Menifee, and I was looking forward to it. I wouldn't mind having a Greek restaurant in Menifee, like the Santorini's in Scripps Ranch.
ReplyDeleteBJ's isn't coming in until 2010, at least thats what I read from past articles on here. I think TJIFridays backed off, not sure. Same goes with Round Table pizza. I also agree on the Chipotle comments, too high price & the burritos aren't that good.
ReplyDeleteRound Table pizza is going in at the Orchard's shopping center, so is El Pollo and Marshall's according to the blue prints they show you at Dixieline. (Clinton Keith & 215).
ReplyDeleteSince we're still seeing new comments on this article, I'll ask again: What exactly is The Breakfast Club? Breakfast only or a regular IHOP type restaurant?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see a 'informational type' column for asking ongoing questions, at least for awhile until our community gets established. Maybe we could head it "Just Ask", "What's This", etc.
I wrote comment letter and email to Rubios many times to request to have Rubios in Menifee, CA instead driving to Murrieta and Temecula. Rubios dont listen people's comment.

ReplyDeleteI've never heard of The Breakfast Club restaurant, so I looked it up online. Their website is thebreakfastclubrestaurant.com. Their menu looks pretty good and it features a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items. I guess you could say it's fairly similar to IHOP, but I wouldn't mind giving it a try. :)
I don't think they are one in the same (Breakfast club, that is). The one on the internet is in Michigan and the logo's are not the same.
ReplyDeleteI asked the Chamber if they knew anything about The Breakfast Club, and they really didn't know. An intern there said that there's another business under the same name that's an investment firm, but I doubt that's what this is. The Chamber said that they'll begin working on the interior pretty soon. I also contacted Donahue Schriber, but no response yet.
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me of how informative and helpful this 24/7 site is! And such a neat feeling - almost like chatting over a backfence with clotheslines! I know all you young'ins weren't around to remember, but many years ago there was a radio program (don't think it was on TV) called "Don McNeil and the Breakfast Club" that was just a delightful morning show. Sorta like the Art Linkletter of his days...
ReplyDeleteI heard that Chipotle's has had a long line all day..not surprising! Just hope they left me some Guacamole !
Thanks for the info on Chipotle's. I'm so happy that they did not put in a Baja Fresh or as I call it Baja Bland. Chipotles at least has spice and flavor unlike the extremely BLAND food that Baja's serves.
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous, at January 15, 2009 5:29 PM: Thanks for clearing that up for me. :) Does anyone else know about The Breakfast Club?
ReplyDeleteI love all the restraunts but I would really love to see an edwards movie theatre go in. Can we talk about that enough to raise an eyebrow????
ReplyDeleteI've been saying the same thing ever since moving here. I think a movie theater is a marvelous idea, and I hope we get one soon.
ReplyDeleteNO MOVIE theatres for Menifee, they bring the scum that hangout all night long and cause trouble. Put it somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteYa know, I have contacted the Menifee Chamber a couple of times and they never have the answer. Once was a phone call the other I actually stepped into the office. The receptionist didn't have the answer so she asked the gal in the back office and she seemed put out, and she didn't have the anwer. Is the Chamber suppose to know goings on around town? What exactly is their function?
ReplyDeleteIf Menifee ever decides to put in a movie theater, I would be very pleased. I haven't lived here very long, but I think it would be a lot of fun if Menifee held a fair (games and prizes, petting zoo, bounce house, snacks, etc.). It would also be great to hold a chili cook-off or a barbecue during the summer. I'm sure there are plenty of Menifee residents who have outstanding culinary skills!
