I've never mentioned Ruby Tuesday here on Menifee 24/7, but I know a couple of commenters have posted it here.
Ruby Tuesday is just an American fare chain restaurant, similar to a Marie Callendar's, Coco's, or Applebees, except it's trying to be more modern, marketing itself to the younger, more health conscious eater. It pitches itself to the 20-30 year old singles, and young urban professionals, and focuses on organic greens, hormone-free chicken, trans fat–free oil, organic teas, and all natural lemonades. I'm not sure if Menifee provides that kind of demographic, yet.
The PE article goes on to say that restaurant chains like Ruby Tuesday is hitting hard times with the economic slow down. However, I continue to read reports that the economy is expected to bottom out by the end of this year, and that 2009 things are going to go back up.
But I wonder if Temecula and Murrieta will continue to struggle now that Menifee residents no longer need to spend money in those towns, with Countryside Marketplace going in, and several other shopping centers coming to Menifee as well.

The San Bernardino location is slated to be followed in December by a Temecula restaurant, with openings scheduled for 2009 in Chino Hills, Fontana, Hemet, Menifee and Wildomar.Apparently, the Menifee location won't be opening until 4th quarter, 2009. The article doesn't mention the exact location, but I believe it's going to be next door to the 76 station, on Newport Rd.

RUBY TUESDAYS!!! NOW WE'RE TALKING !!!
ReplyDeleteOn our way through Utah we stopped at a Ruby Tuesday's. It was very good. A terrific salad bar. It is very much like Chili's, TGIF, Appleebee's but I think better. Yahoo for new eats in Menifee!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow about a Bobs Big Boy
ReplyDeleteBob's Big Boy will probably jump on board seeing other good ones coming. Today's San Diego Tribune article: Junior Seau, Patriots linebacker and owner of Seau's restaurant in Mission Valley has opened the first of seven Ruby Tuesday Restaurants in Southern Cal. He and his partners are starting in San Bernardino and plan to expand the franchise operation to Temecula, Hemet, Menifee,Wildomar, Chino Hills and Fontana within the next 18 months. So we not only get a great restaurant like Ruby Tuesdays, we get the presence of Junior; I've heard that he is definitely a 'people-person'; often frequents his restaurants and mingles with the people. So our little homey-feeling country is going to get some new places! I just hope we stay with the 'country' feel to bring in new families looking for a safe and loving place to live.
ReplyDeleteFYI...New Bob's Big Boy opened a few weeks ago in Temecula where the old Richie's diner was. On Jefferson/Winchester.
ReplyDeleteNow we need an Outback Steakhouse, Long John Silvers, and a Dairy Queen (Coldstone is terrible and overpriced).
ReplyDeleteI agree about Coldstone-rather have Baskin Robins or Dairy Queen. Hey why not a Sonic?
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I have wanted a Sonic for so long! It is the perfect climate for it. I grew up in the midwest where there is a Sonic in every town. I love Sonic! A couple years ago I read a little write up about it in the paper, someone was thinking about putting one in Hemet, but that never happened. The closest one that I know about is in Anaheim.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big Coldstone fan. Golden Spoon Yogurt would be great. You can get a child's size for 68 calories, fat free and it is really yummy.
ReplyDeleteGolden Spoon would be PERFECT!!!
ReplyDeletein response to Ruby Tuesday, they are by far way ahead of Applebees and Chiles. This is upscale with taste and flair...Bob's Big Boy did it..don't want it..we already have Cocoas..enough of the crap eateries.
ReplyDeleteA Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt would be wonderful!! And if we are dreaming here so would a Trader Joe's.
ReplyDeleteenough of the Trader Joe's-its getting old now.
ReplyDeleteno...what's getting old is all this talk about nasty places to eat. A Bob's big boy...?? are you serious. Give me a break. A Sonic? Wow...that's even better.
ReplyDeleteoh please...
ReplyDeleteWould you rather that we ask for a Morton's or a Fleming's or how about getting a Ritz Carlton??? I think that the majority of people here in Menifee are hard working, "middle class" people that can not afford to take their families out to eat at a 5 star restaurant! What in the heck is wrong with Bob's Big Boy? Probably been around since you were in diapers...maybe longer! It's a classic! You know you can't resist standing with the statue of Big Boy himself!!!
ReplyDeleteAll this talk makes me want a Big Boy Combo!
Sonic is coming to Hemet beside the Wal-Mart!!
ReplyDeleteReally? Do you know when? How did you find out?
ReplyDeleteWhile I would prefer a variety of restaurants, Bob's Big Boy did have some yummy hamburgers back in the day. I go to the one in Havasu when Im there! Plus I loved their kids books when I was little! At this point - any nice sit down restaurant would be great! Im over carnitas!

ReplyDeleteWe need a Bob's Big Boy here in Menifee!!! It's a great place to eat and it's not expensive. What about a bowling alley here in Menifee? I heard the old Target is going to be turned into a fitness center, now do we need another fitness center? There's a new one going in on Scott and Antelope. I think a Trader Joes in the new shopping center would be great.I heard there's going to be a Wal-Mart where is it suppose to be built in Menifee?
ReplyDeletemmm...i always see the Ruby Tuesday and Sonic commercials, they always look so good. However, i have never been to either, too far and plus never came across one during travels. i can't wait. all we do here is eat and shop, we need more interactive activities. stuff to work off the pounds of all of this food! i'm hungry ;-)
ReplyDeleteTo all you Sonic fans in Menifee: They recently opened a store in Hemet. It is located to the north of the Walmart Supercenter in Page Plaza at Sanderson and Stetson Streets.
ReplyDeleteA Sonic would be awesome. Yummy food and half priced drinks during happy hour every day.
ReplyDeleteOoooh I just heard about that Sonic in Hemet, I'll be out there soon as I can, I love that place!!
ReplyDeleteI just read that Sonic is also coming to Murrieta over by Murrieta Hot Springs & Margarita Rd. Too bad they didn't think of coming over here :(
ReplyDeleteI would love to see La Fogota
ReplyDeletemexican restraunt open one in
Menifee. It is wonderful food.
There is on in Hemet.
Ruby Tuesday is the best I ever had... The Garden Burger is the bomb...
ReplyDeleteThere is a SONIC fast food in Hemet on Sanderson and Stetson. By Walmart.
ReplyDeleteSONIC has been in Hemet for a while now. La Fogata restaurant (Hemet)is awsome. Great service and fast. We go there at least 3 times a month, sometimes more.
