Deane Foote is a candidate for Riverside County 3rd District Supervisor, running against Jeff Stone.
He was on Menifee Valley Radio this evening talking about his candidacy. You can hear a replay of the show here...

What do you folks think about him?
I got the sense that he has very good intentions, but that he doesn't have a firm grasp of the issues in the 3rd District. When asked some tough questions, it sounded like he was looking for something to say, rather than knowing what to say.
The position of County Supervisor is really an administrative one, not like a city council position. The Supervisor needs to delegate work to his staff, be able to demand results, and exude a leadership persona. I didn't get the sense that Foote has these qualities. Some people are just born with the ability administrate, I just don't think that's Foote.
I'm not necessarily saying that's Stone either. I think Foote would find himself in over his head with problems and deadlines, and incapable of managing.
Also on the show, were city council candidates, Carol Sullivan, Scott Mann, Sue Kristjansson, and Tom Fuhrman.
Fuhrman mentioned something about an election night party at Wooden Nickel Ranch.

I too heard the program and agree that Foote stumbled around on some of the issues, but I also understand and support him because he is not polished with charisma, dodging questions or smoothing things over with an unqualified response, as some others do. HE is FRESH to politics and seems to be out for the community as a whole. Stone has charisma, so do a lot of the others who can lead anyone to the waterhole only to find out its dry because they've taken time to check; too busy in the politics game. Stone is just a figurehead wining and dining with the brass. Foote deserves a chance, he has the guts we need to learn and produce. OJT is not so bad in times like these..IF the person steps up and out.
ReplyDeleteAs for Furhman, his snide rebuttals to ones objecting to his topless shenanigans on his ranch pretty well speaks for his morals and family values. All I've heard him screech about is the code enforcers; is that his sole concern? Wearing that big hat with no respect to others and removing it for candidate forums, makes him look like he's trying out for Gunsmoke or something. that only makes his brash, snarly voice seem to bossy. Yet, he does pride himself as 'ranch boss' right?
Serves me right by typing faster than my thoughts; meant to say Stone is good at leading people to water only to find out its dry BECAUSE HE HAS NOT taken time to check.

I agree. I am willing to give Foote the chance. I think Stone is completely paid off by developers and is completely ineffective.
ReplyDeleteI also voted for Foote and know him personally. He is a good guy who is looking out for the little man.
ReplyDeleteJeff Stone has a limp handshake. You can't trust a politician who doesn't have a good handshake.
