By now, everyone who lives in Menifee has probably seen those earth movers sitting in the lot off of Newport and Haun roads, along with the water tank from Pardee Homes.
Yes, the Countryside Marketplace is still going in there, that's not changing.
Yes, Donahue Schriber, the developer who's building the Countryside Marketplace, is still the developer, and they are still building it, despite the fact that they no longer show Countryside Marketplace on their website.
According to Supervisor Jeff Stone's branch office in Menifee, Donahue Schriber is working with Pardee Homes to build out that entire area. That area is not going to be commercial-only, but a mixture of commericial and residential. That's why Pardee Homes is there. The development of residential homes usually takes longer to do, that's probably why Pardee Homes has their equipment there now.
While it hasn't been officially announced yet, Donahue Schriber will be doing a presentation for the public at a Menifee MAC meeting on June 20, 2007, at 7:00pm, at the Sun City Civic Association. When I get more information on that meeting, I'll post it on this site.

great.. just what everyone has been hoping for. More residential.
ReplyDeleteHow about some parks with those homes? Why does it have to be pardee? Yikes!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what is going on with thre rest of the empty lots around menifee? I've seen signs about new shopping centers for over a year but no construction. Here is an idea, build more commercial.
ReplyDeleteYes, we need more parks! How about an attractive look from the freeway? Driving through our neighboring towns is not pleasant nor attractive. I hate to see Menifee be just another bunch of ugly boxes next to the freeway. And, what about the traffic? Build the roads, schools, and overpasses first please!
ReplyDeletewho can we talk to about getting the track home builders put in green belts and more parks. I would get involved for that.
ReplyDeleteshopping centers! WHAT ABOUT A FREAKEN MENIFEE HIGH SCHOOL?
ReplyDeleteTo "Steve I.", if you want these developers to put in more green belts and parks, you have to go before the County Board of Supervisors while they are negotiating with the developers, and ask them to do this. Otherwise, it's the Board of Supervisors who tell the developers, "If you want to build these homes, then you have to widen these roads, build this bridge, and put in these parks."
ReplyDeleteI dont agree with people's statement that want to establish new homes and parks on Newport Rd and Haun Rd. It is necessary to establish new shopping center on Newport Rd for Countryside Marketplace comes first. That's enough lots of new homes on East in Menifee. I dont want to see many gangs around trouble on new parks.
ReplyDeleteGreat, we need a closer shopping center. I am sick and tired of having to drive to Moreno valley or Murrieta/temecula just to go to Sam's Club or do any major shopping. I am in agreement with the poster regarding having a MENIFEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILT. We need our own High school so that we can stop sending our high schoolers to neighboring districts, that's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteThey need to stop building new homes. This is one of the reasons why Menifee homes have decreased in value. There are to many available homes in this area. Bring up the shopping center and let menifee build up a little more before continuing building new homes.
ReplyDeleteWho is the General Contractor for this project???
ReplyDeleteDonahue Schriber is the GC
